Rocky was one of several puppies in a litter found in a shopping cart in a parking lot. He was brought into a wonderful home with other dogs, cats and horses. For ten years Rocky had the best life, and then it got even better.
At ten years old Rocky’s person thought he had the perfect temperament to become a therapy dog. So this dog who was once abandoned went to school and became a Pet Partner therapy dog. And for the next several years he was a stellar member of the Love Dog Adventures therapy program in Las Vegas.
No one really knew what kind of dog he was but certainly he had some Shepherd and maybe Lab in him. Whatever the mix, it was just perfect.
Rocky was one of the first Love Dogs in town and showed all the others what to do. He was gentle and kind and loving and quiet and always ready for a new challenge. He became one of our steadiest “walking dogs” and loved meeting all new people. He especially enjoyed working side by side other dogs.
About a year ago Rocky and his people moved from Las Vegas but always stayed in touch and worked as a Love Dog when they visited.
Today we learned that at the age of fifteen Rocky left us. He had a spectacular life and we will remember him fondly as one of the first Love Dogs in Las Vegas … and one of the very best.
