What does a Neutral Dog do?

One of the most important roles a Pet Partners Love Dog can perform is serving as “neutral dog” for others as they test. Pet Partners does not conduct the test as a group or outside. We must be in a small room replicating where a team may visit, a location they and their dog have never been and they must encounter a dog they have never met before.

The Neutral Dog must be so steady and predictable that he or she can enter the door of the test space and walk past the team being evaluated without any reactions at all. They must be quiet, calm, not seeking to play, non reactive to any other dog (or other species being tested!) they may encounter. They need to have a steady pace alongside their owner and turn as requested, stop when asked to and not react even if the dog being tested does.
