College of Southern Nevada invites the Love Dogs in twice a year around finals week to help the students relax and have a little fun.
All three campuses join in the activity and the students and faculty agree it is a very productive way to take a break from the stresses of school.
It is wonderful for the Love Dog teams as well as we get to spend time with our fellow handlers and dogs and often we see the same teachers and students semester after semester.
We first visited the West Charleston Campus yesterday and next week will go to Cheyenne and Henderson. When we arrived early to set up our space, there were already many students waiting to meet the Love Dogs.
The school has a white board for comments and one student wrote she had just lost her own dog and this time spend with ours really helped her focus and get back to studying.
Another student told us that she wishes she could have a pet but knows how much responsibility it is and as a student, just not feasible now.
And some people we see each visit just are so excited to see their favorite dogs and be remembered.
All in all a great day and we look forward to next week’s visits as well.
